Farewell Timpanogos

School is out for the summer, so my last day of work was on Thursday.  The school year went by so fast, I couldn't believe it was ending already.  Working at Timpanogos was probably my favorite job that I've had.  The kids were so fun to work with! I'll probably always remember the experiences I had getting to know the kids, and learning from them. I took a picture of the two little kids I had in after-school.  I think these two were my favorite kids at Timpanogos.  I'm probably biased though because I spent a lot of afternoons with them.  I think the main thing that I took away from this job was a greater love for all different kinds of people.  It made me understand how missionaries come away from their missions loving the people they served.  I got learn a little more about different cultures, different ages and stages of kids and how different they respond to things, and I learned a lot about these little kids home lives good and bad.  It was a pretty humbling job and I am grateful for this wonderful experience.

The latest

Nate and I have been talking about how much we want a waffle iron.  Well one night I asked Nate to run to Costco for me to pick up a few things, and they had a waffle iron for $30.  And it wasn't just any waffle iron, it's the kind like at hotels where you flip it and stuff!! (you'll see.)  Any ways he didn't tell me he got it, and in the morning he said I couldn't go in the kitchen.  He surprised me with yummy Belgian waffles, and he even made whip cream and everything.  They were so tasty :) Thanks babe!

Sorry I can't figure out how to flip the pics

I decided to start a garden this summer.  So I had my mom help me plant all my seeds and I am so excited for all the veggies we're going to have, (if I don't kill them first! :)

I saw this video today and I think it is hilarious, and pretty clever.  I am sorry to any of you Newsie Purist who may not like it, but I think deep down you have to realize it's pretty funny.

I also was randomly looking through my timeline on facebook and found this little gem.  I had totally forgotten about this video.  It made me laugh so hard.  My little sister Emma had a fascination with photobooth at the time and made this video.

Anybody else still obsessed with the Step Up movies (besides me and my siblings)? Sure the storyline is always super cheesy and stupid.  But the dancing totally makes up for everything.  The dancing is always sooo cool.  Every time after I watch a Step Up movie it always inspires me to go out and become a really good dancer! Lol

Let's hear it for New York

For our 1 year anniversary, we decided to go to the Big Apple.  We had so much fun touring the city and eating good food.  There are so many different languages being spoken there, and lots of interesting characters in New York.  We really enjoyed ourselves and had a wonderful anniversary.  It's hard to believe it's been a year already! I love you Nate :)

Here's lots of pictures from our trip:

Rockefeller Center, Or as I kept calling it 30 Rock :)

 Lego's every little boys dream

 Lego Rockefeller, very impressive

View from the Rockefeller, we were lucky that it was so clear

 St. Patrick's Cathedral

Took this for my little sister Emma, huge American Girl Doll store
This is for Emma too, she used to love Raven Samone, guess she's the star in Sister Act on Broadway
 Times Square

Toy's R' Us has a ferris wheel inside

Probably the best fish & chips Nate and I had ever had.  Look at the size of that fish, we went to this Irish pub and our waitress had an irish accent! :)
Had to try a new york bagel, the cream cheese was awesome!
 Museum of Natural History

Central Park

It took a lot of work, but I got Nate to let me take a picture of him.  Not only that but he was smiling :) yay!

Nate lookin' at the map.  I'm so grateful for Nate's navigational skills! I would've been sooo lost without him.

One of our subway entertainers :)
Yes we found a rat in the subway.  Thankfully it was on the track and not near us!
Nate and I were lucky to fall upon this.  We went to this random pier and found adults learning how to ride bikes.  It was hilarious, and hard not to watch.  We had to take a picture.  It was like large sized children, they had instructors and everything helping them, and they fell over a lot! I know that's horrible ;)
Ground Zero, it was under construction when we went, so it's hard to see
 Miss Lady Liberty

Awesome ceilings in Grand Central Station, the picture doesn't do it justice.

 Brooklyn Bridge

Biggest Reese's I've ever seen! I think each cup weighed a pound

 Loooong Licorice mmmmm

Okay I was dumb and forgot my camera for this, (So I took a pic from the internet) but Nate and I went to WICKED!! I think it was my favorite part of the trip.  The actors were awesome and it was just wonderful :)

I've always wanted to go to New York, and I was lucky enough to have a sweet husband who took me.  Thanks so much Nate I had a blast.  There were so many beautiful buildings, lots of fun things to do, and if you like to "people watch" like I do there's lots of that too! :) hehe
